Re: Apocalypse..any plans?

I've been anticipating the imminent demise of the universe as we know it and have planned carefully.

I will get up about 6:30 and have a cup of coffee. Next a light breakfast and then go to my desk to start calling customers. About noon I'll break for lunch, then make a few more calls and send some emails. If not too busy will stop work around 5 or 6, have some dinner and watch the news to find out how the apocalypse is going. Then maybe go out to the boat and tinker for a while.

Might stay up late to see what happens at midnight and then go to bed.

Not in relation to the Mayan calander but in relation to overall financial instability and that we live in a major urban center unty location which would be vulnerable to social distress. Yes, we have plans. Half baked, silly, flexible, bulans.

Agh yes Social distress , is that when my rugby team looses. I think I'll sit out my steps crack open a beer and watch the social distress around me. The government will eventually feed me.

Re: Apocalypse..any plans?

I wonder how a live-aboard couple would fare on the Doomsday Prepper TV show when they rate them. I would think that they would have quite a few positive aspects about the situation they are in.

I would also like to see them show what would happen to a family that hasn't done any preparation. How far would a gang of desperate people get?

I'm not buying any Christmas presents until after the 21st. I hate the shops this time of year and I'm not going to spend my last moments in some crowded shopping centre.

If the end of the world doesn't happen then I will have to run around like crazy and do all my shopping on the 24th 1 hour before the shops close.

In summary- no different to any other year.

Re: Apocalypse..any plans?

I was thinking a nice chocolate layer cake for dessert that night might be tasty... or maybe a flan.

The fed has some sort of arrangment with the gov that ends in 99 years, and that date ends Dec 23, 2012. Pretty close to the Myan date, by 48 hours. Anyone that thinks our fiat currency is forever, and the baby boomers pensions now maturing will ever get paid is more optimistic than I am. Pointing us to a date, is hiding the inevitable in plain sight.

Re: Apocalypse..any plans?

I'll be anchored in a lagoon at one the many uninhabited Pacific atolls - no radio, TV or WiFi - so I won't know when the end of the world happens. Then a few weeks later when I sail to the next clear in harbour and try and radio the immigration/customs guys and nobody answers.......

I still won't know the end of the world happened because those customs guys never respond

I'd better get cracking making inroads into the seven dozen bottles of red I bought yesterday .
