Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1220 Released

bcn,

It was the same with 3.1.106, sometimes boat was going sideway also, like in 3.1.1220.
Before I had 3.0.2 and the boat was going straight.

And for my autopilot, it is fed by nothing for instant. It is independent.

jpiebrig:

Little more : point 102. Make last GPS upload port persistent. Doesn't seem to work. I have used /dev/garmin. Works fine, but next upload, it comes back to ttys0.

What is /dev/garmin? Do you type it in manually, or is it in the dropdown list?

After you send to /dev/garmin, and then close OpenCPN, do you see the following key in your config file?

Code:
MostRecentGPSUploadConnection=Serial:/dev/ttyS5

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1220 Released

Hello Dave,

I am trying the AIS message as this : Caution Area: Marine mammals in area - reduce speed

This item is translated in the french file language. And the translation is actived in the mo file.

But it is not translated when I try.

Is it normal or no ?

B.R.

Gilletarom.

Gilletarom...

We do not attempt translation of AIS Area Messages. I think this is an unrealistic expectation. The .po files could never be complete considering the universe of possible received AIS messages.

jpiebrig...

Could we get a VDR plugin recording of your datastream when the ship is going sideways?

Thanks

cagney...

Code:
I can't connect a USB BU353 via /dev/ttyUSB0 neither on a 32 bits nor on a 64 bits system. Gpsd works fine.
Anyone else with the same problem?
The nmea is coming in, and is correct.
Oops, bad port name assumptions in the source code.
Correction available in github master now.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1220 Released

On the dashboard the GPS in view should show the Satellites locations but I see nothing, althought the ship is moving with direction and speed; so the signal is coming in but no star satellites in view on the GPS Status inclding the number of satellites used.

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1220 Released

This version is working fine - thanks to everyone

- I thought that by clickling AIS 'Off' ; this would have would have stop the import of AIS Datas ?
- In the 'connection thumb', we have the ability to add and/or to remove a connection,

Do you think that a 'temporaly suspension' would be bonus ?

Re: OpenCPN Beta Version 3.1.1220 Released

All...

There is a bug in 3.1.1220 related to Dashboard.

Many (most?) of the instruments will not indicate valid data, even if present on the datastream. The only things accurately shown are Lat/Lon, SOG and COG.

This is a serious bug, and warrants a relatively quick fix.
Expect a Christmas present.....

Thanks for your patience
