Yes, could install it that way, but the whole point of using a repository is to make upgrading later easier, no?

Hi,
I had the same problem.
Even beeing onto Stretch, I used the repo :

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/opencpn/opencpn/ubuntu/ bionic main

Which means, in /etc/apt/source.list :
replace

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/opencpn/opencpn/ubuntu/ xenial main

by

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/opencpn/opencpn/ubuntu/ bionic main

It worked fine for me so far.
