Please, do not e-mail me directly with any requests regarding this or other plugins, I did not write this plugin and my table is more than full with other work, so really (= *really*) won't implement any of it Post it here or in the Flyspray tracker.
And please upgrade, sQuiddio 0.2 will be blacklisted in the next OpenCPN beta and won't work anymore at all.

Ok, I understand your "cry from the heart." Make no mistake. I understand that you have a heavy workload.

An error of "communication" was with this plugin. I have long believed that you were in the author. This is probably something to ponder for the future.

Best regards Gilletarom.

Just a follow up for any who, like I, slavishly follow the experts' instructions.
For a 32-bit Ubuntu system, the last line of Pavel's instructions should be (I think):

sudo dpkg -i squiddio_pi_0.2-1_i386.deb

With windows, have you installed it in this folder:

C:/..../opencpn 332118/plugins/ ? (OpenCPN 332118 is the last bêta version of OpenCPN) ?

With other OS I do not know. And so, I have no idea.

It defaults to C:\Program Files\OpenCPN\

I reinstalled to C:\Program Files\OpenCPN\plugins. There is see 'squiddo_pi.dll' file. Still no joy and not showing up in plugins

Thank you!

Re: squiddio plugin

There should be a C:\ Program Files\OpenCPN 3.3.2118 folder.
And here the plugin directory.

If there is a folder with just ....\OpenCPN this a relict you should not use.

Maybe this is the issue then. I do not have such a folder. I am running OpenCPN version 3.2.2 Build 2013-05-08.

Looks like I should update? Just downloaded today and perhaps grabbed wrong version.

Re: squiddio plugin

Hello,

I went to the tracker. It seems that the bug reported here do not taken into account ... ???.

So I post here.

I installed version 0.4 of sQuiddio.

Two problems :

1° It is in English. If I use the french file language, that I download from crowdin, all is in English. (I thing that the name of language file is "opencpn-squiddio_pi.mo")

2° Just a detail wrong.

If you disable the plugin, then the marks icons remain present in the waypoint manager.

Best regards. Gilletarom.

Re: squiddio plugin

Will there be a 0.4 version also for Fedora in jeo-repo?

Re: squiddio plugin

@Gilletarom
sorry I let your post unanswered for a while and thanks for the feedback. I have updated Tracker, but here's a recap:

1) French version: you are correct - there isn't one. Which gives me an opportunity to use this forum to solicit volunteers ;-) (hint hint) (I wish I spoke French well enough to take over that task. I think the only versions available now are Italian - courtesy of yours truly - and Czech)

2) Again, you are correct: the layers remain, and therefore the icons in WPT Manager. See my recommended solution in Tracker. Basically, when you disable the plugin all layer files would be deleted.

More info in Tracker
Cheers

I don't know of any plans to create a Fedora version, and frankly I am not familiar with jeo-repo, but perhaps someone more knowledgeable on the topic can chime in on what it would take to develop one? As a Ubuntu guy, I have to admit I am out of my depth here....
