I asked Navico (Canada) why timed transmit was not implemented in the 4G RADAR.:

Why is there no timed transmit mode in your 4G RADAR ? Alll pulse radars can beat your low power claims when running in timed transmit mode.

Thier response was not too helpfull:

From our understanding this doesn't affect the voltage draw, traditional radars do require more power to drive the magnetron and send the microwaves through the air to pick up those targets. This may affect more the power of transmission that is sent out of the radar.

Perhaps Someone else might ask the question and get a more useful response.

If timed transmit was implemented perhaps enforcing a minimum OFF and ON time would allay Kees' concerns about damaging the scanner.

Ha..ha. A nice try but you may ask the seller(?) to forward your question to some technician who may understand it. Seller's normal answers are like; "It should work" or like in this case make an answer to a not asked question.
