Lidgard Owners

I have a Lidgard 41' - New Zeeland design and would be interested in hearing from any other owners.

I don't own one, but did a few cruising division races on an oldish Lidgard 28 footer a few years back. She was a comfortable boat, and performed quite well for her age.

We had an Adams 40 for a few years and if I've got it right, Lidgard first studied under Jo Adams, and the Lidgard 41 is not dissimilar in hull shape etc.
We did know another couple in Perth who built a Lidgard 40 something and took it off cruising from Oz to the Med and all the feedback at the time was favourable.
On our Adams we found a taller rig gave us much better performance than the 'advised' shorter stick - and whilst a cruising yacht - she was no slouch on the race track. In fact we won the Fremantle Harbour race with her (under handicap of course) against the likes of Davidson 50's etc!
Cheers
JOHN

A very well recognised name and recognised as a subperb build and sailing design. I doubt you would go wrong and the pedigree should ensure a good resale value later in life.

Hey mate I just bought a Lidgard 41 in Perth called Driftwood. I think the boat was fairly customised, it was launched in 1996. Would be keen to see how similar it is to your boat!
