Ah it’s about draft. Many boats under 40’ have equal or more draft than us but this makes it clear. I don’t understand what rocky shores have to do with it… those rocks would puncture small boats... |

Do you have actual examples of coves where 38’ boats can go but 50’ boats can’t? In close quarters maneuvering most will use an engine, springs or even an anchor or launch a dinghy. |

14’ boat length difference made it impossible to anchor there? I wouldn’t dare to anchor in those tight spots regardless of boat length ! Edit: our marina minimum slip length is 55’ |

The smallest slip in our Florida marina is 55’. The ICW is for motorboats, sailboats 50’+ sail offshore. Our 64’ boat turns on the spot… without even a bow thruster. The “a couple can only handle... |

Let me guess: you have a small boat and are not feeling good when all around you have 50 footers? :thumb: A 55’ boat handles much, much easier than a 36’ boat. I know, I owned and sailed them all... |
