No.

All he can do is repeat the same old worn out arguments. Then mention beach cats which is fun since I then get to reminisce.

But you have to live in the right area to be able to do that...

Well the way I see it, since I have spent around 250-300 days at anchor over the past 12 years on this Good Old Boat I bought for $2,000, I believe that gives me a pretty good idea about the cruising...

But when not racing, just cruising around on a beach cat in nice weather can also be lots of fun and a decent workout

There are never enough Beach Cat stories.

Here's one about how hard it can sometimes be just to get your beach cat off the beach.

Btw many of these guys (and gals) were from Pensacola/Ft Walton...

And there lies the problem.

The guy comes to ask about living at anchor on a sailboat.

He has zero experience it appears on sailboats or boats period.

Then he gets responses like "Go For It"...

He probably realized what a crazy idea it was to try to live on an old sailboat at anchor near Panama City.

Here they usually try the liveaboard life at a marina.

The older guys seem to be the only ones that can make it work.

At my last marina, a guy in his 60's lived on a Coronado 27 for a few...

The thing many don't understand about places like Pensacola and Panama City that have never lived in places like that is that when a major hurricane comes through it totally changes the place.

His problem though would be that he is in Panama City, FL and thinks the rent is too high so maybe a huge sailboat at anchor would fix that.

If it doesn't work out, he could be in big trouble...

Because I own a sailboat and have been at anchor on it for days in a row multiple times.

It's pretty easy to figure out how it would be to live that way 24/7/365 once you have that experience.
