We have a name plate picture for the tank but I can’t find it and I’m away from the boat for another month. Have you called Catalina (727) 544-6681? They have been able to answer every question l’ve had so far.

Re: Catalina Morgan 45 Owners

I have had excellent help from the people at Catalina. The same person who manufactured the original cabin soles made our new cabin soles. They look fantastic. I don't have any specifics on the fuel tank other than it was 60 gallons. The pictures that were of the replacement project provide the details I needed. I am going to remove the custom fiberglass work and put in a new aluminum tank.

Re: Catalina Morgan 45 Owners

Hello I'm presently looking to possibly buy at 45 Catalina Morgan CC, it seems to check all the boxes I'm looking for. Specifically a CC and has a sugar scoop. I'm seeing two different drafts posted and I'd assumed it had a fixed keel but am I wrong in that assumption? Two different drafts mentions 5.33 feet and 9.5 feet.. I have no desire to have 9.5 keel so I'm hoping it a typo. The broker has not returned my Message yet so time will tell. Its a 1991 if that makes a difference.

Good morning, I have a 1995, Catalina Morgan CC and it is for sale, it has the walk down transom. The draft is 5.5 ft, has a wing keel.

Sailboat Data online seems to be incomplete. My Catalina manuals show the shoal draft version at 5'-7" and the fin draft version at 6'-7"

Re: Catalina Morgan 45 Owners

Hi. I realise this an older post. We have Maristo, number 50 in Hobart Australia. Nice job with the tank. Oddly, our fuel tank is in the bow, forward of the bulkhead. Is this custom fitting, or are others the same?

Re: Catalina Morgan 45 Owners

Hi. We have just fitted a diesel heater in our CM 45. It is a welcome addition to winter cruising. If you had the disassembled heater out in an open paddock, you could assemble the whole thing in half and hour, ducting included. In our boat, it took my wife and me a large number of hours, trying to fit things while having our head down in a hole. Not fun. The difficulty is caused by the maximum exhaust run of two metres. That dictates where the heater unit itself can be fitted. So it's a matter of fitting it where the exhaust run dictates, not where it would be easiest. There was a fair bit of effing and blinding involved during the job. Nonetheless, we now have an outlet in the aft cabin and two more in the main saloon. Toasty toes from now on.
