Charley Morgan 41 Centerboard/Keel

$45,000 - Grace O’Malley is a 1969 Charley Morgan designed Morgan 41 centerboard/full keel, the production version of his famous “paper tiger” that won many offshore races in the late 1960s and early 1970s and is referred to be some as the working man’s Bermuda 40. She performs well in all conditions. She can ghost very effectively in light air with the centerboard up but is equally comfortable offshore in a blow.

Grace O’Malley has been continuously upgraded and professionally maintained by Johansen Boat Works in Rockland, Maine. During the past three years she was equipped for long-term cruising including all new plumbing and pumps, water tanks, engine upgrades, water maker, lithium batteries, solar array, high output alternator, new autopilot, rebuilt centerboard, new centerboard pennant, new dodger and awning, cushions, lifelines, Vesper Marine XB-8000 AIS and NEMA gateway, Furuno radar, Sail-o-Mat windvane, and much more.

She was professionally Awlgripped in 2021 and sports a custom four-blade Featherstream feathering prop. With a draft of only 4 feet, 2 inches (10 feet with the centerboard fully deployed) she can access anchorages that are off-limits to most boats her size.

Power is a Perkins 4-108 that was rebuilt in 2009. Since 2020, engine upgrades include a 160 Amp Balmar alternator with a serpentine belt drive, starter, raw and freshwater pumps, fuel injection pump, and new Racor and on-engine filter housing.

Grace O’Malley recently cruised the Bahamas and the east coast. She is ready to go back this winter. Spectra Watermaker and additional solar array for sale separately.

Equipment Includes:

Rebuilt 2009 – hours unknown and the meter is not currently working; however, the hour meter was not reset after the rebuild (according to the maintenance records) and it was working when I purchased the boat so it’s likely that the engine has less than the 2200 and change registered hours.
