Jeanneau SunShine: water in the bilge

Hello! In our Jeanneau SunShine 36 (1985) every now and than we find some water under the stuffing box. We are sure, the stuffing box is not leaking. We know an owner of the same boat, he has got the same situation and can’t find the leak as well. He is sure, it is not salty water.
Has anyone got an idea, where the water might come from?
Best!

Are you sailing in fresh water or sea water? Did you actually taste the water?

To find out: clean and dry the area. Now tape a piece of paper in that spot and it will reveal where the water comes from. It’s very likely from the shaft seal.

We are sailing in the Atlantic. And we are quite sure it’s not saltwater. It tasted just a tiny bit salty.

We did that. It is dry under the stuffing box.

Then the paper will show where the water came from? Put paper there as well, until you find the source.
