I am thinking of starting a blog. We are circumnavigating and use an Iridium Extreme with Redport optimiser for weather and emails at sea and usually get a local sim for internet when in port.
Which is the best blog format to use that is easy to use and will not attract any advertising.

Probably wordpress first, then blogspot. I'd stay away from sailblogs.

As Paul mentions, Wordpress and BlogSpot are the two front runners. My suggestions would be to set one up on both platforms, and see which one you like the best. They both have advantages and dis-advantages, and you being the user can make the call as to which one works best for your needs, and ease of use.

I use Wordpress for my site.. basic version for €25/yr and well pleased.
Just not very computor savvy so its not that tidy with sequencing dates etc..
