Changing username

Okay, I've been searching the forums for a bit on this and haven't found anything to date touching on it other than a post asking about "changing names", which I'm honestly not sure if it related to the username or another display.

Is there any way to change ones username short of signing up for a new account entirely? I expect it might be something that requires mod intervention if it's possible, so if that's the case I'd be especially grateful if one could let me know if it's doable at all.

My username is not conversational and was the sail number for our first San Juan 24 sailboat. It was created before I knew how the forum worked. Now the name has no connection to who we are or how we sail. Could I change username and retain connection to the threads I have posted in? Would be greatly appreciated. Mike

Hi, Mike,

Just send Pete7 a PM. He is an administrator/moderator, and it takes one to do it. The rest of the mods cannot.

Or, you can click on "Contact Us" at the bottom of most pages, and then fill in your request, but make sure you keep the explanation intact, then your old posts will show up with your new name, and of course, your new ones will, too.
