Dividing a Thread

Dear Moderator,

I'm new here, and first of all thanks for this very nice oasis.
To me, the most interesting part so far has been the thread "FP Mahe 36" in the Multihull Section. This thread has a grown to contain a huge amount of interesting stuff around our boat.
The only problem is that it contains over 1200 posts, and is rapidly growing. A lot of FP Mahe fan's are contributing here, on any topic. You may say they could have started several threads from the beginning, but they didn't.
Finding information and sorting out the good discussions in this thread is now pretty difficult, especially when you are a newcomer.
So my question is: Is there anyway we could devide all the +1200 posts in this thread into several threads, divided by topic?

You'll have to beg one of the 'controllers'.
Perhaps this would be best done as a subheading under Multihulls.
Many issues will be common to other boat types too!
Wish I could have afforded one but I'm happy with mine and it does have some different features that I like.

Edmund - while what you ask is technically possible, it's invariably messy and something of the natural flow of the discussion is likely to be lost. Generally the best option is to close a thread and start a new one and we can take a look at this possibility.

OK, so you closed our thread FP Mahe 36. Fair enough.

There are already some other, older threads (7 I think) in the Multihull section where Mahe is mentioned in the title. Any chance of renaming these old ones to read FP Mahe 36 - "old text"? We could avoid making more new threads than needed, we would keep the info already in there, and it would make it easier to search our threads later.

I see you have already done it, and sorry, TaoJones, I didn't explain well enough:

For example the thread
Mahe Galley - Looks small?
I would rename to
FP Mahe 36 - Galley - Looks small?

and the thread
Fuel Consumption on Mahe 36
I would rename to
FP Mahe 36 - Fuel Consumption

- and so on.


The phrase "old text" is not needed.

The idea is that we can search the forum on the textstring "FP Mahe 36 -", and get all that is written about our boat. And not much else.
