Because I don't need to subscribe to threads to see what is happening on CF.

I automatically go to "New Posts" when I use my browser's CF bookmark and just scan through the list. If I see any threads that I am interested in, I look at them. It doesn't matter whether it is a new thread, one that I have viewed previously or one that I have participated in.

1) Go to the top of any thread.

2) 'Click' the "Thread Tools" drop down.

3) Select "Subscribe to this Thread".

NOTE: If you are already subscribed, then it will read "Unsubscribe from this Thread". By default you should be automatically subscribed to any thread that you post in.

To View Subscribed Threads

1) 'Click' on your UserName Towards the top-right of the screen beside "Welcome, <UserName>."

2) Select the 'UserCP'

3) In the left hand menu, select "List Subscriptions".

Configure Default Subscription Settings

1) 'Click' on your UserName Towards the top-right of the screen beside "Welcome, <UserName>."

2) Select the 'UserCP'

3) In the left hand menu, in the "Settings and Options" section, select "Edit Options".

4) In the "Default Thread Subscription Mode" section there is a drop-down with the following options:

"When you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads, with the option to receive email notification of new replies to that thread."

  • Do Not Subscribe
  • No Email Notification
  • Instant Email Notification
  • Daily Email Notification
  • Weekly Email Notification.

So really, one setting disabled subscriptions, the rest enabled subscriptions and simply determine how you're notified.

I do the same, but he was asking, "How do you go back in to site and find replies to your question."

If he posted a question why would he not want to be subscribed to the thread that will contain the answer?

I'm not suggesting that is is necessary to subscribe to a thread to see what is happening here, I'm honestly trying to understand the advantage of changing the default behavior that automatically subscribes you to a thread that you have posted in.

All the instructions so far appear to be for the website on a computer….
Since you are accessing from an iPhone,
when you open the app there will be a menu bar across the top which has options (from L to R) of;
Home
Forums
New Posts
Unread
Subscribed
Participated
Subforums

It’s necessary to scroll to the left to see the Subscribed, Participated, and Subforums.
Tap on Participated and you will see all the threads you have posted on.

If you’re on default settings, you can also find the same threads on Subscribed (you are automatically subscribed when you start a thread)

Alternatively, you can tap on the 3 horizontal lines in the top R corner (menu) and tap on your profile…..
This will have an option to see all your posts

FWIW, the pic I posted was from an iPhone. So I suppose that’s how it looks if you don’t have the app.
