Has someone updated software?

The display of CF has changed in the past few hrs. Has someone changed the software? Instead of Icons for the different functions I am getting text. On the portal page almost all topics are proceeded with the text "go to first new post" followed by the text of the thread topic.

Using Win 7 and FF 37.0.2

Re: Has someone updated software?

Is anyone else having trouble with CF? When I open it in IE I just get text. On FF as well as the problems above I can't see posted photos.

Re: Has someone updated software?

Hi - are you running and ad blocker by any chance? If so please make sure that cdn.cruisersforum.com is on the whitelist? If you are unsure and want to test, try disabling the blocker and have a look. Does it help?

Re: Has someone updated software?

No add blocker on IE but I do have one on FF that has been running for years. There has been some change between when I went out this morning and when I came back this afternoon. I have re-booted my system and it is the same. I have not noticed any other problems and was on an auto forum that uses the same engine with no problems. Strange though that it seems I am the only one having trouble.

What has changed is how images are stored. If you are blocking that url you may not be seeing them. Please try disabling your ad blocking and then give it a try.

Re: Has someone updated software?

Janet, no difference when I disable add block plus. Can I send you a word document with screen shots of FF and IE? Did I also mention that I now cannot see the pics that have been posted. I could see them a short while ago. For instance in the thread http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...-144390-5.html
post 139 I cannot see the image that was posted but I do see the videos at 123 and 124 and the image at 129. Very strange.

I also just noticed that our avatars don't show up. I get text saying "Janet H's Avatar" and "DeepFrz's Avatar" where the pics. should be.

Re: Has someone updated software?

I have reloaded several times, rebooted the system and now I have tried Google Chrome which has the same or very similar symptoms as IE. I have even scanned my system for bugs and it came up clean. If I saw any problems on any other web page I have been to I would suspect my system but I have seen nothing on any site except CF and the problem happened in a short time span when I wasn't using the system. There have been no updates other than about 2 hrs ago I updated my anti virus software.

Re: Has someone updated software?

Janet, I logged in on my Windows 10 system and everything is okay on that system. I still am only seeing the problem on CF on my Win 7 system. So obviously something is screwing up FF, IE and Chrome but only on CF. Maybe some buffer. Will try clearing out history and another reboot.

Re: Has someone updated software?

I had a similar problem but with another application. It turned out that I had 2 copies of Ad Block loaded. Once I removed the second copy then the allow function worked. This may be the problem you're experiencing. Hope this helps.

Re: Has someone updated software?

Click here and tell us if you see your Avatar, and if not, what error message you get.

If it says "Name not resolved", or something like that, check your hosts file. Make sure 'cdn.cruisersforum.com' is not mentioned in it. This may be my fault -- I think, like two years ago, this forum had a 'redirect loop' on a javascript fetch at their cdn that broke the website for many people. If I remember right, you and I talked about a solution that was to add a line to the host file to block this and solve that problem. It didn't affect anything else since back then they weren't using their cdn for anything other than the broken fetch.

On another note -- congratulations to this forum for using a CDN.
