How to search effectively thread

Is there a thread detailing how to effectively and efficiently search the forums? Obviously I would search for it but I can't get the search bar to let me enter text...

Re: How to search effectively thread

Go to Google and use the "site" operator. For example:

"site:cruisersforum.com walrus"

More details on search operators you can use may be found here:

Are you on the App or a browser?

Re: How to search effectively thread

I believe that @adelie's question about app or browser is because neither the app nor the mobile browser version offers google search whereas the web interface does under the search dropdown. The non-google search is not very effective.

Go for @requiem's advice for the site specific google search. Something I didn't know until this thread either!

You can also use a mobile browser and find the link to change to the full website version at the bottom of the page. That will give you the google search box in the Search dropdown, though on a phone this doesn't work too well. It is okay on a tablet.

If the search bar won't let you enter text, then something isn't working properly. Details about your system, OS, browser/app, versions etc. will help in figuring out what is going on.

Re: How to search effectively thread

Go to google.
Type “cruisers forum + whatever you are searching for”. Into the bar
Hit enter

Has worked very well for me
On both phone and laptop.

I search Google, then come here from there.

In the web view:

3rd from right on the top blue-green command bar is the Search menu.

2nd command block from top is Google Custom Search.

Graphic is from my phone browser.
