Latts&atts

How are you all,Im new to all this,I have a dream and I want to learn and this site is really the best I have found ,I may have been a bit corse in a thread or two and for that I am repentive.Boy I really got sucked into THE BILGE on that other forum & Im deffinately staying away from that crap, most of that forum is allright and I would like to say I hope that the people here dont ever ask for or accept or indeed stand for a section so far away from sailing. After getting sucked into the Bilge I do realize we all have pollitical agenders in our life as sure as there are taxs and also people of different religon and persuasion and feel it should never come between man and water,If I ever encounter that in the future I will deffinatly veer away.

That is why I am here. I once spent a fair amount of time at Lats and Atts not any longer. If you want to learn this is a better place for it.

P,

Latts & Atts is another forum, but just talk (No picture section or detailed subject section). With a lot of political and name calling BS.

Latitudes & Attitudes the magazine has become one of my favorite sailing related publications. I think it's excellent and very entertaining.

But I've found the bulletin board to be "hit and miss." It seems there's no where near the willingness to help others there as there is on this board; and it can too often get personal and crude -- for my taste that is.

Unlike some other forums, this one is populated by sailors. It is also populated by adults. On occasion, political subjects come up, and even non boat related subjects (at least not directly), and those subjects are discussed in an open manner with the understanding that just because we have boats in common does not mean we will agree on all aspects of life. I have not gone to the forum you mentioned, but the few I have participated in do not have the same down to earth practical approach from the participants that Cruisers Forum does. Sounds like you found what you were looking for.
Welcome.

That mag is fantastic, the website sucks, including the renagade shoot off of it. Not the sites themselves, but the rubbish that goes on there. It's best to keep politics out of sites like this. This place is far supperior due to the far supperior maturity that this place has in it's participants.

I was a big fan of lats and atts. I would get the magazine and joined the cruising club. Then the web page went to hell and I just did not want to be a part of the type people that took over the web site and some how felt the magazine was to blame. It may not be right to blame the magazine, but that is what I did. The cruising club and magazine are no longer in my life. I want to learn to be a better sailor, i don't want to bitch about the President.

Saw a bumper sticker the other day:

"IF YOU CAN READ THIS, YOU ARE NOT MY PRESIDENT'.
