Question New avatars

The Admin. has suggested an upgrade to the avatars, a newer version that can be personalized. It would have a picture with your personal info in the same frame. As well, there will still be images available to choose from. But what will not be allowed are vulgar, rude, show some form of hate, porn, etc.

As well, there would be more info on how to get that avatar in place in the User CP (Control Panel).

I'd like to get ya'lls opinion/feedback.............................._/)

I am for the idea. The photo I use for my avatar lost allot when it was resized to fit. It would be great to get it cleaned up. There has been a trend over the past 3 months of people adding a personal photo for their avatar, I say we promote it.

I'm for it.

Hell, honestly? I think alot of these avatars are lame in my book!!

I like to see more tougher and cooler avatars. Like US Navy type of avatars. And other types. That are not cartoonish looking?

Cartoonish "lame", "lame"!!

For now, the admins and moderators accounts will have lots of enhanced features like space for more PMs and the larger avatar like I am sporting. This wider avatar does not take up any more space, just fills in the space to the right.

How do us lowly junior cruisers upload a custom avatar? I don't see an option for it in my control panel.

I had to change a setting. You should now be able to upload a custom avatar (max size 80x80 pixels but the system should try to resize for you).

I dunno Nereus .... Looking at your choice of a character to portray yourself, I'm shuddering to think of the boating equivalent!!

Actually, I tried to find one that looked like me, but this one was better looking than me so I used it.

Whatever. I don't really care about the drapery; I'm here for the content.
