Re: Obnoxious “Checking if connection is secure” Message

Cloudflare is like a virus, also totally unresponsive to users when it gets things wrong and blocks ip ranges it shouldn't. Unfortunately its fairly ubiquitous and embedded in a lot of hosting. Most people, most of the time don't notice it, but its an utter PITA for others.

As others have suggested a VPN usually helps get around the worst aspects of cloudflare.

Use a VPN. There are free ones.

If you are using a hotel Wifi you might be interested in using a "travel router" like this one: https://www.gl-inet.com/products/gl-mt1300/ It has good security features (e.g. your device is no longer visible to others on the network) and supports connecting to a home VPN (several supported). It is quite convenient when moving to a different location to be able to just connect the router to the new Wifi. Your devices continue to work against the travel router so no need to connect them.

They have a nicer one for travel, the Mango. It is much smaller again and works fantastic. I even use it at home for a VPN to avoid geo-fencing.

On the boat I use the Slate. There are newer versions of the Slate now.
