Search Function

Does anyone else feel like CF's search function is inadequate? I can't quite put my finger on what it is but I don't always feel like I am getting the full story. Are the search results organized by date instead of significance?

Its a V-bulletin thing..all forums have the same issue...use the specialized google search..not perfect but much better.

I'm glad I am not alone. It drives me crazy. So much good info, so hard to sift through it all.

Ya what aggravates me the most is trying to find one of my own old posts when I know its there somewhere...that's almost as hard..

Can't you use the username search function and just put your own name in there?

OH you can get a list of all your posts right from your usercp section but its still a pain trying to search them.

Don't use the big "SEARCH" in the header bar. Use the small "Search" pull-down menu in the bar below it. That one contains the custom Google search function, which works a lot better than the VB search function.

It's the same one that's in my signature line.

The User cp (find more posts by ...) only archives your latest 500 posts, even though older ones could still be located by accurate keyword searches.

No, that should have brought you to "Google Custom Search - Cruisers & Sailing Forum"

Yes custom search just google adds but still wide prameters.Addresses using key word for all, no option to narrow search.
