I believe they are.
Google “AdWords” select advertising based upon your search terms (keywords), and the advertiser’s website relevancy (to your search).

Maybe David was looking at a BDSM or bondage site before he logged into CF.

Hoisted by ones own patard me thinks David?

Yeah, I knew that But my point is that the results are a) often not sufficiently specific to the thread subject matter (nor sometimes to the Forum subject matter ) and b) not presented in a manner that is as useful to me as they could be...........of course might (probably?) require too much human intervention to tweek the ads on a forum.

But I would settle on a "Google Button" that simply opened a new browser with 1/2 a dozen relevent (and more descriptive) adlink search results and / or some thread (& site subject) specific suggested keywords.........maybe also an opportunity for someone to perhaps not directly compete with Google , but instead to create a utility that "sits on top of" Google (and other adsense style search engines?) to make the results both more user useable and more site specific..........I am guessing though the main block on that will not be technical, but Googles T&C's

I have noticed that whilst some things related to my other Google searches do appear on the CF Google ads displayed their does appear to be a filter on some keywords

Not BDSM related though - BTW I am guessing a "Patard" is some sort of related speciality equipment.........................

I use my Petard for climbing the mast
