We have been trained to pay them so we can have the privilege of advertising their crap. We pay extra to wear labels on clothes, cars and sails. This is free advertising for the owners.

They should be paying us, not the other way around.

That's half of the thruth. We produce the content but we don't pay the bills of the distribution. However there's a lot more readers than contributors so I don't see any reason why some excellent contributors like Maine Sail couldn't get paid for their valuable work. Considering me and you I'm not so sure if we deserve anyhing but an occasional thanks every now and then warms my mind
