Annapolis Sailboat Show

We're heading up for the Big Show. What are the "Must See" booths or attractions that anyone on CF enjoyed in years past? Besides pints of Aviators Ale at McGarvey's. Thanks for your input.

(Please do not make this an opportunity to peddle your wares if you are a vendor)

Re: Annapolis Sailboat Show

There are a lot of new boats premiering this year. I would suggest stopping in to see those. List of Premier boats can be found here: US Boat Premiering boats

You may also be interested in some of the Boat Show Seminars.

I would plant to spend AT LEAST two days.

See ya there!

Captain Jack Klang at Quantum Sails. Cheap boat hooks at West Marine. The seminars. Lunch at Fleet Reserve Club. All the tents - don't get distracted by the boats.

Beyond that, what are your interests?

Re: Annapolis Sailboat Show

Auspicious,

I'm interested in new gadgets. Meeting those famous names whom I've read about, but don't yet have a face to me. As a quintessential sailor, I'm always looking for a bargain. I'd like to climb on board a few new fancy boats, but we won't waste the whole time with that.

I grew up in Annapolis, and haven't been back in 7 years. So it will be interesting to see the changes, hopefully some of them will be good. I do hope the Market House is open again....I miss taking my barely-afloat aluminum John Boat down Ego Alley to get some Machoian's potatoes!

Market House is open but not as good as the old days.

Based on what you said I stand by list. Wear shoes you can get in and out of. Bring an umbrella just in case. Have a great time.

Welcome home.

Re: Annapolis Sailboat Show

I'm finally making my first pilgrimage to Annapolis this year. There are SO many boat brands that NEVER show on the west coast. I'm really excited.

Re: Annapolis Sailboat Show

I am here and ready!!!

I get to work the whole show so I LOVE the after hours cocktail parties!! I love seeing all the new boats and gadets.
West Marine always has good sales.
Wear shoes that come off easy and I have seen people bring address stickers, makes filling out the info cards easy. I believe most of the major displays with ask you to fill one out before getting on the boats.
Yippeeeee Boat show time!!

Re: Annapolis Sailboat Show

Good call on the stickers , Boat cards. The market house is open but not what it was. Sadly (Chicken Man) Bobby Machoian is not part of the new tennants. Ted, from Chick and Ruths has a booth with good crab cakes. If you have not made arraingements where to stay it may be too late to stay nearby.

If you get sore feet be sure to get a pain killer at Pussers. Have fun all.

Re: Annapolis Sailboat Show

Best boat show party by far is Saturday night at Eastport Yacht Club, which is open to the public. It features live music, decent food and drink, auctions and a lot of fun people — plus proceeds benefit a very worthy cause.

BSB - Welcome

A very good friend of mine is a member at EYC. I enjoy spending time at the club! The people are all so freindly.

Re: Annapolis Sailboat Show

For breakfast get a fresh made crepe (egg, cheese and tomato is my favorite but I'd add bacon if my wife would let me) at Sofie's Crepes just by the north entrance to the show on the Naval Academy side.

Sofi's Home

You can thank me later.
