Does that mean buy silver or sell it?

What about a bag of dimes?
At $2.10 +/- each. Easy to trade till Uncle Sam says no one can own it anymore......like gold in the past.

Re: Apocalypse..any plans?

If JP Morgan is holding a short position in silver, it would be a good idea to check the ratio between the Puts / Calls and where is the institutional money is, never go against the institutional money. If Morgan is shorting, it would be a good idea to be short as well. Sell.

Dimes are a great way to collect silver. Dollars or one oz rounds, not so much, if you are going to barter with silver. In a depression, no one makes change.

Loaf of bread is a silver round, or a silver dime. No change made once the crap hits the fan.

It is also said that this is all nonsense...

I still fail to see why the random lines some ancients drew in the sky have any meaning beyond aesthetics...

I tried sharpening my iPhone, now it doesn't work so good...

Where can I get a pitchfork and how many apps to they support?

Speaking for myself, I'm a member of the downtrodden upperclass. Silver spoon upbringing, then Dad spent all the cash.
Looking forward to a global financial meltdown if it means my loans get forgotten...

Hmmm ... I wouldn't let Dad see the pitchfork just yet. Use surprise to your advantage. :-)

Re: Apocalypse..any plans?

I live in the heart of the Mayan Riviera, this is a little Mayan humor I heard around here ~ the Mayans couldn't tell the date of their own demise, let alone the rest of the worlds... hahaha, (drum roll) seriously though - the Mayans never said it was the end of the world, it is merely the end of the 13th 'bak-tun', like a Mayan 'century' or 'epoch'... there have been scrolls found in Mayan Guatemalan talking about the 17th 'bak-tun', so no worry folks, all will continue to be well....

Re: Apocalypse..any plans?

Mayans are probably right about their calendar rollover.

I remember when my old (1995) Navico GPS chartplotter rolled over the date.
All of a sudden the day/month/year said 1990 or something like that.
It wasn't a big deal because it still worked.
Even though I always installed the snap on cover when it wasn't in use, the final straw for replacement was UV damage to the plastic case which allowed rain and salt spray inside.

2012 Apocalypse - Is it really coming?
I'm trying to decide if I should pay my bills! On the other hand I guess it doesn't matter because if the apocalypse happens, what would I do with the saved money?

I wonder it I should be more or less worried about this than I was about Y2K!

Re: Apocalypse..any plans?

I spent the coming of Y2K kicked back with a bottle of wine and my dog beside me, I remember the local hardware store was had a big sale on generators (with no returns allowed). I don't want to be where I am when our culture crashes, if/when it happens it will be soon enough for me to be concerned but will not coincide with the Mayan calendar. If the cosmic alignment of the milky way or some other such thing causes a polar shift (or some other such thing) there will be plenty of misguided individuals attributing it to a spiritual force. Those of us already living on board have a jump on such a crash.
