Dehumidifier

Advice please-
I need to dehumidify a compartment that includes several pieces of electronic equipment. Access to fresh air via port and to laundry sink for drainage. Power 240vac to 12vdc available. Floor area 40sq ft. Internal volume 250cu ft.
Domestic appliance would not be a problem, in fact preferred. What is recommended ,please?

Re: Dehumidifier

I had a mildew problem in my small cabin. I used a Peltier Effect dehumidifier that was about the size of a loaf of bread. It dropped the humidity in my cabin from about 80% to the low sixties. That solved the problem. It had a tank that held about a pint of water. I drilled a small hole into the tank and inserted a piece of aquarium air hose. I used the hose to allow the tank to drain directly into the galley sink drain. Be sure to also get a hygrometer so you can track how effective the dehumidifier is.
This is similar to what I used.

Re: Dehumidifier

I absolutely love this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DRC6MCG

It isn’t available anymore butyou can compare it’s features.

Points to consider:

- runs off small inverter.
- has a drain hose as well as tank. We put the hose in the sink.
- when power is restored after going out, it remembers if it was on or off.
- relatively small and light compared to many (older) models.
- has a very good humidity percentage on/off control. We run it at 60% humidity setting.
- perfect results.
