Re: Headless bodies of pair on a Lagoon440 found in Thailand

Ha Ha, don't lose your head. I meant mono sailors couldn't afford them, doesn't mean they don't have them. I can't afford to drink but that doesn't stop me.
Wonder what sort of anchor the Lagoon used. Mmmm

You just have to read the local news: Pattaya One – Pattaya News, Thailand News, World News, updated 24 hours a day | Pattaya News

I went to Satun a couple of weeks ago, looks like its in the extremists part of your map :P Its actually a pretty popular place for cruisers to haul out. And Langkawi is Orange? haha
I do not understand why you're talking about the Russian? why you mention Russian in this context? Or again to blame Russian?
Russian, Arab, American, Asian,we all have red blood

I love Thailand..... never been to Pataya mainly because of its sex trade reputation and expect it is the same as Angeles City in the Philippines... it attracts a lot of slime and crime that is not in character with the rest of the country.

All true about Pattaya and the sex industry, but the main marina on the Gulf is there and then there's the other golf, if you like that (I don't). Koh Chang (a short hop down the coast) is the place to get away from all that.

Muslims, from what I can tell. The Mexican drug cartels also do some beheadings as well, but they don't hang out in Thailand.

This thread must be keeping some people very fit, running down races, religions, and jumping to conclusions.

Re: Headless bodies of pair on a Lagoon440 found in Thailand

I personally find it upsetting that a group of people (cruisers) who I have generally found to be an open minded and intelligent bunch of people could display such ignorance on here. Maybe I have only really experienced the cruisers who move beyond their own country's borders.

Re: Headless bodies of pair on a Lagoon440 found in Thailand

***UPDATE***
Quote:
New Developments in abandoned boat case near Pattaya Island

A full investigation is now underway into the circumstances surrounding the death of a male and female, thought to be of foreign nationality, off the coast of Larn Island, earlier this week. New developments suggest the discovery of an abandoned Catamaran nearby is not connected to the pair in any way.

Region 2 Police, Marine Police and the Pattaya Marine Department confirmed on Friday that the boat belongs to a Belgian and is currently being Captained by a German. The boat experienced technical difficulties and with the permission of the Marine Department, the vessel was anchored 500 meters off the coast of Sark Island, which is situated next to Larn Island, until it could become sea-worthy again.

The vessel is normally moored at the Ocean Marina Yachtclub in Jomtien. The Captain of the vessel has been accounted for and boarded the vessel with Police on Friday where he confirmed that the boat was not in operation.

Police are now re-focusing their efforts on the two headless corpses found in the sea and suggested the heads had been consumed by fish, which is a common occurrence when bodies remain in the sea for a substantial period of time.

The investigation continues.

YEah I thought that was hilarious.

They are setting it up for the old, "Swimming accident slash head-eating fish" death...

i.e. in Thailand that means death by natural causes...
