Differentiate between a killer whale and a shark. Well a whale is a mammal and a shark is a fish . Killer whales ( which are actually a breed of dolphin) have tail flukes that are horizontal.
Sharks which are fish have tail fins that run vertical in relation to their body.
Easy to distinguish .
A loose bolt in a spreader is not a big deal you just need to turn into the wind for a little while to climb the mast ( they had mast steps making it easy to ascend.) repair the bolt issue and continue on .

Any of us that take our boats offshore should be capable of accomplishing the repair.
You do not convince me , btw I don't know a lot of " offshore " types but many of the so called yachties that I meet can hardly tell the direction of the wind let alone an accurate speed , afik sharks and killer whales both have dorsal fins , we don't need s biological detailed comparison, especially at nite !! I think it is accepted that these girls were limited in their rigging expertise but savvy enough not to run a sail up a shakey mast !! , next ??

If you do know then why are you incorrectly using the word "slander" with reference to written communications?

Ok if you wish to be particularly pedantic and exacting ( not a trait which is present in much of this thread ) I will use the term libel , may be more suiting to your pedantry but in this instance of little difference .

did you actually look at the rigging on the mast and both spreaders in the video?
At least you admit you know little about offshore sailing. Btw what vessel do you spend your time on the water? ( just curious )

Did I ?? I would have thot that someone who was " just curious " would have asked the question before jumping to erinious conclusions and exposing their ignorance . However facts are not athing that you deal with much in this thread . I have actually spent much time on many different types of vessels " on the water " ( as you call it ) , however it is not my experience which is the point of this thread , please try to keep to the point .

What a rather stupid thing to say , the ladies said that there was a " bent bolt " and that the mast was " shakey " ( iirc ) , that I have to believe until I can see something substantial to the contrary eg a report from a suitably qualified person ( surveyor / rigging specialist ), not base my opinions on something that I / someone may or may not see on a video clip !! I could say that I certainly would not be too concerned with the opinion of someone who sails a 24 ft boat !! But I would not want to judge someone whom I know nothing of , unlike yourself .

OK, I agree. Please find the said amount in your account plus $1,000,000 for all the grief.

Re: HI->Tahiti Dingbats found after 5 months

Been an interesting thread, seems most people around the world (and the internet as well) have figured it out.
Could we possibly have picked up another one here along the way ??

I developed a sense of belonging and been part of something, just other people were so good at putting in words my sense of self righteous feelings about lying and pounding on these two individuals with all sort of fascinating findings like after been at sea for so long their skin looked so good, that these two must have some special skin creams?
All of their human faults, and the skill to criticize, ridicule with such gusto.
Actually felt somehow disappointed there was no a climax to the end like in Zorba de Greek when the villagers stone The Widow and teach her a lesson!!
But hopefully we are now in business again and may be they are found guilty of something and can finally be sent to jail or something.
May be turning on each others forum members?
That will work for me.

by "believing" their "story" (see their interview!) you absolutely totally disqualify yourself from being taken seriously.

Re: HI->Tahiti Dingbats found after 5 months

btw: a "shakey" mast is unlikely to survive months of unsupported rolling on the open ocean (including in force 11!!! e l e v e n!!! - not just mariners, meteorologists too...)
I heap ridicule & am open to all and any libel & slander litigation! including from people that believe the "story": you are either trolls, have not the slightest idea of open-ocean sailing or...(oops, litigation-danger!)
