Hobart Wooden Boat Festival

Held early February in Hobart Tasmania featuring more than 500 classic and historic wooden vessels.

Warm and sunny conditions brought a huge crowd of boat lovers to Hobart's Wooden Boat Festival where they strolled the docks, talking with crews and snapping probably upwards of a million photos. A special aura prevailed for young families dreaming of adventure, also perfect for the older ones to reminisce of their days at sea, and simply great for those pursuing the dream to find new ideas and motivation.

For more info, our blog has been updated.

Here is a link to another 75 photos of Hobart's Wooden Boat Festival
And a link to another 70 photos of our voyage home around the bottom of Tasmania.

Re: Hobart Wooden Boat Festival

It was a GREAT show! Blessed with the first good weather in weeks, a wonderful selection of timber boats old and new, and fascinating folks to yarn with... and all for free!

J&J, it was good to finally meet you face to face. Would have been good to have a bit more time, but your public clamored for you!!

Can't wat for the next one in 2017... maybe this one will see our Insatiable II amongst the entrants.

Cheers,

Jim

We went for the first time this year, enjoyed it heaps - so many great old boats. If only they could talk!!

Jim, are you thinking of coming around to the west coast this year?

Be nice to either go up river with you, or meander Port Davey,
