Indonesia Rally 2012

I really want to go in the Indonesia Rally (Darwin to Singapore) one day. It has been running for 12 years and has over 130 yachts involved this year.

Appparently it is one of those great, but secret, events. I am surprised that there has not been any mention or reports from any of the yachts on this forum.

Even the official website has not had any updates since the yachts left Darwin at the end of July for the 3 month sail. see Sail Indonesia

There is nothing on their official facebook either.

The Indonesian govt heavily sponsors the rally and each of the major stopovers organise special welcoming events for the participants.

I am so disappointed that there seems to be no news. Maybe I am just missing the wrong websites.

I would love to hear something, maybe someone is monitoring and could post to this forum.

We did Sail Indonesia this year and have just arrived in Nongsa Point marina.

Agree that the official web site is poor. Many of the yachts in the rally have blogs describing their adventures in the rally. I googled "sail indonesia blog" and found a stack of 'em. Ours is yachtzenagain on blogspot.
