Re: It's a buyers market

[QUOTE=MicHughV;3911111
When people want another car, it is invariable a used model. New car sales are pitiful.

I think the boat market is in a similar position. So many used boats available, why shop for a new one, which much like a car takes a big depreciation hit up front.[/QUOTE]

Well the first statement is untrue and the second is true. But that doesn't mean anything to the people who want and can buy new.

BTW I drive a 2006 Lexus with 274,000+ miles on it.

Rich people don’t pay much taxes. They know how to scam the system.

A lease on a car is a deductible business expense. And so are physical locations if you use it for business.

Some avoid taxes by majority of income received through stock. They write off what little (comparatively) actual income with deductions. So owe almost no income tax.

To get money, they get low interest loans on their stock. Lower than you or I could get.

To pay off loan, they get bigger loan, avoiding taxes. Rinse, repeat ad nauseam.

Any loan payments that they do make are at lower rate than taxable income would be.

It’s a different world.

Maybe the broker ACTUALLY SAID “I don’t want to sell a crap boat. Get the deck fixed and then it will be good enough for me to sell”. That would make sense.

Re: It's a buyers market

and i need 1 under 10 year 50 ft boat. if somebody buying now boat please don't call now seller for boat sell after season. contact later in september couple week before delivery. price going down every day but also today after lift boat i find this. seler say small damaged rudder.

image hosting site

he dive under boat. this is hanse 505,autopilot don't working. i pull from offer.
this can be huge cost for repair. i think SS ruder is bent. simply need new ruder autopilot jefa is ussualy week problematic. easy 10000-15000€ repair only crane is 800-1000€
simply wait charter company is in panic. over 1500 boat in Croatia must leave fleet and marina in Croatia.simply not free place in marina.

this is my opinion

Still quiet here in southern New England. Again we're the only boat at anchor in Cuttyhunk and only 5 rental moorings taken.
