Present usage stems from an incident in Central Park, NY, a few years ago involving a - white - lady with the name.

Ah well......

That's the challenge with this stuff; the real world is mostly grey. But too many of us (an increasing number, I suggest) can only see in black & white/right & wrong/good & bad.

Maybe, as my deceased countryman once said: "the medium is the message." The medium is computer. Maybe the binary world of the machine has infected our analog thinking so that we can only see in 0 or 1.

Mostly I agree. Live and let live.

But when it comes to something so public as a sign or a boat name, it feels like time to put on a mature face, IMO. Titillation and profanity are basically a lazy way to get a laugh. Comedians know it. That doesn't make them role models.

Actually that woman’s name was Amy.

The use as a pejorative seems to have caught on about 2018 and the origin is not completely clear.

Want to know the definition of irony?

A bunch of people on an internet forum, who are offended over some woman being offended.

Re: Karen picking on boat names!

Forget Karen. I want to know who the weirdo is who named their boat Big Black C*ck. Name your boat whatever you want, but I hope you're horribly embarrassed riding that thing out of the marina. If not, there's something wrong with you. Although that was probably established by the boat name lol

Re: Karen picking on boat names!

As the clouds of political storms gather on the windward horizon and the shoals of irrelevancy lie close to leeward, the good ship CF has deep reefed, tacked and lies hove to.

The thread remains closed, 8 posts have been deleted for political content not directly related to thread topic; you know who you are, please refrain from irrelevant political ping pong and stick to sailing content. There are plenty of other sites where you exercise your political posting skills.
