Hell.... if she could find her way around the world I'm sure she could find CF with no worries....
How long she'd stay is another matter....

I think that Jedi might have an idea if she would like this or not. As you are her most avid fan, Bob, you could invite her to join ......
I'll accept the title of being her "most avid fan", she is the grand daughter I never had. Nick probably has the means to contact her directly, but I did just invite her over here on her guest page.

This is the note I left for her.......

Laura, There are a lot of fellow sail boat cruisers that would love to chat with you without the static and signal fading of HF SSB. Come join us for a very warm welcome at wwwdotcruisersforum.com/forums/f106/laura-dekkers-circumnavigation-52522.html just replace the "dot" with "."

Re: Laura Dekker's Circumnavigation

I am afraid she will not join. But it would be great if she did.

+1 What is here for her? We're just a bunch of old salts!

The only reason she came over to Jedi was for the Bami Goreng

Re: Laura Dekker's Circumnavigation

I think it would be great if she did join, at least for us; but on the other hand, I am sure a 16 year old young lady such as her will have much better things to do with her time than indulge us. I know I certainly had my own agenda at that age.

The difference being, we are positive old salts, unlike the negative old farts she had to deal with. Did she like the Bami Goreng?

Re: Laura Dekker's Circumnavigation

Do you know Bami Goreng? Not the Chinese noodle kind but the exquisite Indonesian Kitchen (with a little adaption to the Dutch taste) that makes any Dutch craving for. So it is understandable that she came for the pot. If I smell those delicious fumes, I would be so impertinent as inviting myself. I do think that Laura doesn' t need any invitation.

Believe it or not, one of the best Chinese meals I ever had was in Kinshasa, on top of the Ministry of Social Affairs was a Chinese restaurant. The least likeable place to find a good dinner.

Re: Laura Dekker's Circumnavigation

After arriving in St. Maarten, Laura has dropped off the map. Anyone know what she is doing?

Re: Laura Dekker's Circumnavigation

Bob,

You can't follow her till eternity but have to wait for her proper announcements.
She is definitely not Kim Kardashian. Who' s best performance was a staged marriage. So far.
This is a Dutch girl, real, live, and everything but a phoney celeb.

Re: Laura Dekker's Circumnavigation

@ Bob,

Very good. Laura will be proud of having such a bunch of admirers on this site. Of which you are on top.
You - and many others on this site who supported her are an addition to her tableau as she very well knows.
At least that is my idea.

I am locked up in the frost. I fell pretty hopeless and when this continues I will be off for some time.

Hopefully avoiding the cameras, enjoying the islands and finding a cute boy to play with before she sets off to NZ.
