beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but the mac westers do have nice lines.

we are going to have to have a nice sail,as i only have fuel for about 10 hours and its 150 miles if we dont stop along the way!!!,though the weather looks favorable.

i'm sure we will have a great time with pete7 and twinkle toe's for company, and great food,as per petes suggestion i am getting in a stock of "fray bentos" pies........

re: MacWester 26 and the "hina"ous crew

This is a photo of Macwester 26.

What I don't understand is how come the green one in Poole has a telegraph pole bolted on the bow, the mast has been stripped of the fittings and a gaff rig made for her.

Has someone been watching too many Pirates of the Caribbean episodes

Obviously I need to start practising saying like "Arr, strange things 'appen at sea"

Well, I meant for you to change it, not me, since it's not really in the job description; and I meant for you to change it to one of the new boat...

Oh hang on it never harms to be nice to folks, and you're doing a good thing with this boat, so go on... I'll see to it right away!!

Re: MacWester 26 and the 'hina'-ous Crew

Atoll,

No matter how swashbuckley ye are, tis a good thing yar ar doin to save that little twin bilgy thingy and restore it to it's former glory. Pretty soon you will have your own navy and be recruitin deck hands and bilge rats to parade around the islands like the Spanish did so many years ago but were sadly shipwrecked by mother nature. Keep addin to yur fleet and let us see your flag. LOL

Re: MacWester 26 and the 'hina'-ous Crew

yaaargh,we came ,we saw ,we conqured, but sadly the weather gods were not on our side,ne'lys never arrived, instead sw-w-nw 5-6,so she is back on the dock, waiting for the next attempt.

many thanks to pete7 and twinkle toes who were a great help, and also the assistant harbour master who has let us leave the yacht rent free on a pontoon.

today got hold of a yanmar ysb 8g engine and prop to match so will go down in the next few weeks and fit it.
then wait for the next period of n-ne'ly winds and sail her down to her new home.
