Re: Man Found Dead In Life Raft

What a tragedy. Hope they discover who is responsible for this. I’ve sailed St. Vincent and didn’t have any concerns. Yes, the boat boys are more aggressive than other places, but using common sense, I never felt threatened. But that was a few years ago, so maybe things have changed.

The reporter sure gave the impression that things have changed.

Re: Man Found Dead In Life Raft

Looks like 2 onboard one identified. Girlfriend is not accounted for. No mention of boat boys in the articles I read.
Not a pleasant thing lets see if the reporters can do a decent job.

Re: Man Found Dead In Life Raft

I've been to St. Vincent to fix their Ag plane, and there are many rental sailboats, or at least the motel I stayed at had many larger Cats etc.
But, it's not on my list to cruise, I can tell you.

Theres been lots of cruisers murdered in this area in the last 6 months. Its getting a bit crazy. This is number 4!
Its a well known boat, so the news will start coming out tomorrow, I guess.

Flying debris, a reason for cuts.

Re: British yachtsman found dead on burnt out life raf

This was a comment to a post about this on the Coconut Telegraph Facebook page.

Sally Erdle commented:
"This article has a lot of misinformation. First responders have reported that it was quite apparently a propane explosion, and friends of the deceased reporT that Heidi has safely arrived home in Norway. I wish the overseas media would not spread hysteria about the Caribbean."

Sorry I couldn't figure out how to post the link.

The norwegian girlfriend is back in Norway, says she left the islands two days ago.
