Re: Pirate captured near English Channel.

Anyone who is NOT supposed to be in your home. I was told a story recently of a home owner who was sued by a thief caught in the fellows home. The thief got beligerant and got his ass handed to him by an older exarmy type. The case was something along the lines of the beating stopped the thief from doing his job which was stealing. It didn't make any sense to this Texan transplanted from Canada so I was simlpy asking if this kind of foolishness is actually happening in the UK.

Re: Pirate captured near English Channel.

I heard a similar story which happened in the US, a thief was inside a house, shot in the knee by the homeowner and fell through the window onto the lawn , landing on the lawn (this was a state where defending your home ends at the walls of the home). The thief sued the homeowner and won. The judge told the homeowner "from a legal point of view he is in the right to sue you, you should have killed him".
I just realized this is going off onto a tangent unrelated to CF.....to bring it back into perspective, this is yet another reason why sailing off into the sunset is a better option than sticking it out on land.

Isnt it just awsome when the Law meets the Elf and Safety rules. The possibilities for stupidity are phenomenal

Re: Pirate captured near English Channel.

so long as we don't give the poltical party that the elf and troll belong to we are good because we know that 1 is a mono guy and the other has one of those "other" boats
