Re: Return of Commercial Sail Fisheries Begins?

I can now tell you that there is a highly likely new construction for this sail assisted vessel to take place in New Zealand in the not too distant future.

Fishermen are starting to think now and this superb ' blend ' of this unique Kansai K class design is attracting more interests with several other strong inquiry,s from the commercial sector Internationally.

In the meantime I have on order a fast trolling underwater camera with DVD recorder for capturing the action of fish strikes on lures to better increase my knowledge to go on board my current ' research ' vessel. I have had some big hits recently with straightened out hooks and in one instance a SS barrel swivel blown apart from a fish strike and I would love to be able to play that action back on a TV later to see that again and again!

As to the Philippines awareness of sail assist in commercial fishing this is why I have my Senior Agent up there in General Santos City which is a main port for Tuna in that area.

Re: Return of Commercial Sail Fisheries Begins?

There is another market you may wish to target: European Union. The EU allows boat 10m and less without an engine to engage in commercial fishing without a license. That is *any method* of fishing, for nearly any commercial fish.

That is interesting, I did not know that situation, thanks.

I will mull that over and see what I might come up with.
