I just didn't want to give the impression I would meet in the Bahamas this year. Why not just PM the names you have listed for their feelings on August or Fall? After November 1st(?) insurance companies permit the boats to return south. As the holidays approach family reunions start for some people.

HI ALL,

I have been down with a bug for 2 days. Couldn't keep anything in me, but 95% back to normal now, or is that abnormal? I

OOPS,

I am busy in the shop now. I am just taking a breather, and will put together a poll on dates. I will throw in several dates a couple of weeks apart each. We can go from there.

John aka Scallywag, thanks for the offer. I will let you know if something comes up

Re: the NE Fla Rendevous: Both of us from "Sailor" will make the event; Sat or Sunday, GCS or Camachee, any weekend in August or September. But after Sep - Adios! and hell-o Bahamas.

Might it make any sense to coordinate our rendezvous with the “SSCA* Gam”, being held, December 5-7, 2008, at Melbourn, Fla. ?

Melbourne Gam with three full days of seminars, marine vendor exhibitions and camaraderie with cruising friends old and new. Begin your mornings with yoga in the park, led by Kim Russell, author of Yoga Aboard. Jimmy Cornell will kick off the seminar program on Friday with “Planning Your Dream Cruise” and on Saturday hear him reflect upon his passion for the sea during three circumnavigations. There’s lots more great seminars; the complete schedule will be posted online soon.

The Don Soledad Trio will serenade us with flamenco guitar at the Friday evening Camaraderie Cocktail Party. On Saturday night, don your Hawaiian shirts and coconut bras and begin the evening with Mount Gay rum sundowners, followed by a sumptuous Island Buffet Party with music by the Pan Sharks Steel Band (limited seating so sign up early). The annual SSCA Awards will be presented at the party. Sunday morning visit the popular flea market, hands-on demos and roundtables with the experts, followed by the Annual Meeting after lunch. All activities will take place at Eau Gallie Civic Center in Melbourne, just up the street from the ICW anchorage for those arriving by boat; hotel and driving info along with the complete seminar schedule and online registration will be posted soon.

Gord,
Are you going to be at the SCCA Gam in December 2008? If a CF meeting would be planned around SSCA, ie. the week before, maybe it is something to be discussed. A CF meeting could even take place in Melbourne. More planning would be a must. I have been trying to attend the GAM for the past couple years. Things just haven't worked out.

No, I won't be making any trips south this year - but I retire (to poverty) at Christmas, and next year all sorts of possibilities open up.

Gord May,
Congratulations on retiring in December. I retire to poverty in June 09. I have a lot of work to accomplish on Scallywag before then.
