Re: Selling La Vagabonde?

Yeah, a big Schionning IS probably a boat that could fit this purpose.

But may not fit as well with some of the other norms for their program, such as factory as well as aftemarket (eg: OceanVolt) support/sponsorship/promotion, etc.

Will be interesting to see what they come up with. Electric engines will be a start.

They bought it at a reduced price and Outremer sourced the loan that they pay back. They need to payback the loan and meet running costs and produce two videos per month. They also managed to get some kind of electronics deal.
1/2 their luck and good luck to them. Was a pretty good deal for all concerned i think,
I recon the next boat will be more in La Vagabonds crew's favour.

I think they will also be trying to build the new one sustainably and I guess trying to push green boundaries!

Re: Selling La Vagabonde?

They said they cannot afford to buy a new boat until they sell the current one.

It's electric at least.

Re: Selling La Vagabonde?

Funny, in my boat search I would have considered that boat if it weren’t electric! I liked a lot of things about it, there are a couple YT vids up on it.

But I know Riley is looking to go electric. I don’t have the patience to sit with a limited range in light/no wind conditions.

True, but I think they're looking to build or refit an existing boat with their ideas about a fully electric boat.

Re: Selling La Vagabonde?

Jimmy Cornell already proved all electric is not feasible. At least to date. I would imagine that they are going to shop for a 50'+

My understanding is they are going to build or have built for them a new boat.

An electric cat would still have a genny. The times that they'd really need it aren't that often. Going electric is 0 emissions, less maintenance and no fuel cost. There's a sail for light wind.
