Juan must have convinced her to motor down. That's all I can figure.

Re: Zeehag on the Move

think they started out light winded...motored...then hit some nice wind...maybe at night...definately after punta baja...looks like they were sailin guud in the bay...perhaps lightening up during day....hitting lee of Cedros they may move back to motor...

if their speed is skiddish, they are most likely sailing.

whatever...she is havin guuud time!

Re: Zeehag on the Move

Now I think she's having a lovely SAIL around Cedros, instead of that smelly motor. Lucky her! Check out her track!

Making good time. Must be all the clam stew she has aboard.

Re: Zeehag on the Move

Goin' inside will slow you down a touch but once she clears the abandoned settlement at the bottom end she will have a sleighride south or easy entrance into Bahia Tortuga if she wants to stop for a day or two. If she needs help there, have her PM me and I will give her the name of a contact there. Capt Phil

Reality time: it took you 16 hours to make good a distance of 65 nautical miles. You may have hit 7.5 surfing down a wave or two, but your average VMG was never pegged above 4 knots, despite running downwind with the current, if my math is correct.

Well when we turned in towards shore we motored and had no wind. At that point we were definitely only going about 3 the whole way into port. That really affected the time. But still, you're right we likely didn't average 7.5 the whole way down.
