Re: Confess Now: How Many Here Are Above the Double Nickels ?

OH good lord, I cringe to say that I might be 55. Though I started dividing my age by two at 50 so I just say 27-1/2 which sounds so much better. Be forwarned that I'll not be using my numeric age anymore, only my mental age. I'm too young to be this old so soon. Ha.

55 Like any other age is a state of mind. (I 'm 56) By the time I was 25 I'd traveled in aprox 40 countries. The more remote the better I liked 'em. Now traveling hard doesn't have the same appeal. My boat is my home and I can travel and be comfortable. Getting older means getting smarter and more self confident. I'm happier now than at any other point in my life. If I could be 25 and have my current quality of life it would great. But I'm pretty satisfied with what I have.

By the way, I always preferred older women even when I was younger.
( was married to a woman 6 years older) It's possible being older in Canada is a little easier with cheap health care and a generous safety net. Definitly interested in woman of experience who know how to sail and love to travel.

Re: Confess Now: How Many Here Are Above the Double Nickels ?

Yup, gonna be a sextanarian this weekend.

Think I am still 40 most of the time, can keep up with my kids most of the time, but I won't let them know when my muscles are sore . Keeps 'em guessing.... besides, their approaching "middle age" within 5 years.

IF the good lord's willin' and the the crik' don't rise, I'll feel the same as a septuagenarian.

As much as 46 hurts, I can't WAIT to see 55!
Oh man.
Do we get a special badge or something when we get to 55?

Nothing special, unless you have a job and are fired for being old.

Re: Confess Now: How Many Here Are Above the Double Nickels ?

We are both in our mid-60's chronologically speaking. We like to not focus on years, but on days of age. My wife and I cruise and explore 24/7 and are 23,976 and and 22,969 days old respectively.

Today is our 1,514 th consecutive day of cruising. We just finished our Atlantic Crossing from Georgia on Angel Louise via Bermuda and the Azores to Falmouth England last month. We will spend the winter months in England at a marina from October through March and visit every Museum and Pub in London... not necessarily in that order!

You have to adopt the Satchel Paige attitude: "How old would you be if you didn't know how old you were?"

We ascribe to the belief that God does not deduct from your numbered days, those days that you spend on the water.

The real badge comes at 60. That's when you get the "senior" specials at TGI Friday's and Sizzler.
