Re: I made some shrimp fried rice today

I got a deep dish pan for the boat for stir fry. Cant get the high heat I get in my WOK at home but it works pretty good.

I really did make shrimp fried rice that day, and it was excellent.

But most of you are missing the point of this thread..............

Get some Kecap Manis (ABC brand from Indonesia, Asian market or even Amazon)) and Sambal Oelek to take it to the next level

You're right, I haven't a clue about your point. I presume it has something to do with this:
"I would call it a chinese dish, but my post, and this thread, would probably get deleted.",

but I have no idea what.

Please elucidate

In another thread, I referred to the covid virus as the china virus. Two or three pages of that thread got deleted................ No one knows why.

I can call shrimp fried rice a chinese dish, but calling a virus, chinese is well............deleted........

So because your post was one of several pages that were deleted and "no one knows why", you assume it was because of your use of one word in one one post?

Paranoid much?

Well, um, you know, a mod sent me an "official warning", "for my posts", whatever that means........

But, I'll stop now, before this thread gets deleted...

Shrimp fried rice, enjoy it while you can.

Re: I made some shrimp fried rice today

While we cruised for 14 months, we found a wok with a lid to be essential for making stir-fries, corned beef hash, and even cakes. Cakes are a rare and much appreciated treat on a cruising boat. With the lid on the wok and a hot plate over the flame, the heat was evenly dispersed and cooked the cake to perfection with no burning. We jokingly referred to the cake as a Cake Walk.

Re: I made some shrimp fried rice today

Because calling it "China virus" is inflammatory. This racist rhetoric, repeated by public leaders, sparked hate crimes. BBC, NYT, Forbes, and many others reported on it. Google "China virus and hate crimes" if you'd really like to understand why this is an issue.

If you know much about historical reactions to pandemics, it's been much the same. Leaders who feel powerless to stop the spread distance themselves from responsibility by blaming it on foreigners. Panic and hate leads to discrimination and violence.
