Mistaken name for the bung

We keep our boat on a swing mooring (firth of clyde) and usually leave the dinghy at the dinghy park.
Today was the first trip of the season so we grabbed our dinghy, loaded up our supplies and were soon aboard. After a couple of hours motoring to a local hotel that has Moorings (I have a fractured wrist so no sailing until it heals) i notice the dinghy has a substantial amount of water in it. A quick check reveals that the bung has come out. I soon get it emptied and the bung back in.

Later that afternoon my other half was asking how/why that happened. The thing is, she couldn't remember what the bung was called and asked me "why did the butt plug fall out?"
