Sounds like they're on a steep learning curve.....unless they have a ready supply of money to keep repairing the boat because it's been hammered too much! Been there, done that, got the tee shirt and the repair bills, I learn't to sail conservatively. It takes a day or so longer but it's cheaper and not so frightening.

A race. You know where you try and come in first. It was lots of fun and the boat was still in one piece when we finished. As I said I wasn't paying the bills. If you don't push the limit of your comfort zone you might never leave the dock.

Gadz!

I was on the edge of my seat reading that! I am glad I am sitting in my boat shop and not out there scarring the hell out of myself with Captain Ahab! I'll be willing to bet that with judgment like that, there have been a multitude of disasters!! On the other hand, if they live to tell about it, it will make for great fireside stories I WOULD LOVE to sit and listen to!!

Share more of them please!!
