Question What day is it?

I was having an argument the other day with the boat anchored next to me about what day it was.

He said it was Tuesday and I thought it was Wednesday and he thought he was right and, well, you know me - I KNOW I'm always right....Except on things like What Day is It?

So my question to the cruisers 'out there': Do you know what day of the week it is?
Do you care?
Does the week just revolve around some hazy idea that its the weekend soon and we can do even less?
Do you get pissed off when someone tells you what day of the week it is, so now you know? That irritates me! I try to get through the whole week without knowing.

Or are you a Need to Know person who always knows?

What were you like when at work in the old life and how have you changed?

Mark
PS The other guy was right. It was Tuesday. That was a few days ago. Its either Thursday or Friday now. I think.

Re: What day is it?

Surely your GPS says the date and you have a calendar?

As of 0900 Pacific Standard Time US, it is Thursday on the Eastern side of the International Date Line.

What is your current longitude Mark?

"What day is it? OK, Thanks, by the way what Month is it? Cool, thanks. 2011, would be right, eh?"

They don't have the heart to ask for a 'present' after that

Good one, Mark... maybe they'll all chip in a buy you a cheap watch with al that stuff on it so they don't have to answer all the questions.

Besides, in some of those places, by the time you finish filling out all the forms it's the next day anyway.

Hopefully not the next month...

Jim

Re: What day is it?

I use a heavy bound notebook as my log book. I have to put the dates in every day. Every so often my logbook will not jibe with the proper date. I then have to go back, sometimes more than a week or two to find where the mistake was made. Really what does it matter?

Right now. In these here parts it is hot enough to be August so it must be August. Good. Then in two months it will be cool enough to sail a bit and there might be some wind during the day.

But Noooooo.

It is really only June. So it will be four and a half months.

GAK!!!!

A watch?? Good Lord why do you think we go cruising? There's early-afternoon, mid-afternoon, and late-afternoon, that's close enough!
You can always spot a newbie, he's the one with the watch.

I lost track of the times I learned it was the weekend in the Customs office and had to pay overtime rates.

I always know exactly when Happy Hour starts.

About 30 dinghys race towards the bar!

I know when its Friday.... During Happy Hour the band starts playing.
