Re: 10m Cooper Prowler - Seaworthy?

I have an 88 10m sun deck, my rectangular looks like abs material galley and main head porthole lens are somewhat cloudy. Hoping just to change out as it is hinged to the main piece. Can one just buy this part, I do not know how manufactured these?

The Oval windows were used by SeaRay and Cruisers Inc also. Both have great service centres.
The boat wasn’t designed for big water. Doesn’t have the hull or the build for it. Has a near flat deadrise in the stern quarter.
Perfect loop boat.
Prowler was accused of coping Carver and Carver had better heavier glass works no question.
All the boats with those drive line had a pending mechanical failure. The chokes and intakes carb. Merc, Chrysler , evenrude Volvo all used the same intake carb and choke - long block GM. I have a great pal had 32 aft Carver I replaced the intake with Edlebroke Intake and I made him two holly marine carbs with electric choke. Instant performance improvements and fuel mileage. The cast iron exhaust are fragile also. The gas power Onan if you have it is amazing. Just belts and spark plugs

Re: 10m Cooper Prowler - Seaworthy?

Hi Rumance
My portholes in the galley and the main head are black(abs I think) and are rectangular , hoping just to replace the hinged plexiglass inner part as it is cloudy. Using the boat mostly as a floating camp, I am in the north channel Lake Huron in Killarney. Not sure what you meant regarding the fiberglass?

Before you replace the rectangular port lights try Meguirars Plastx clear plastic cleaner. It got rid of the fog on mine. It is real easy to do it took me about 30 minutes to make both of mine clear.

Thanks Andy, I will try nothing to lose, yet I read many arts on this issues and it would give one the conclusion it would not work.
You actually tried and it worked so, Creedence to your work trumps conclusions.
I will let you know next season as the boat is on the hard tarpped.
Thanks for your reply!

Good luck, next time I go to the boat I will post a picture of what they look like now. They don't look brand new but they are transparent, clean and you can see out of them. They look good enough that they are off my project list.

Hopefully I attached the pictures, before I cleaned them they were frosted over. They are not perfect, but good enough for a 32 year old boat.

Re: 10m Cooper Prowler - Seaworthy?

My wife Pat and I just bought a 1986 Prowler 9M Aft cabin and love it so far. Working on a few things to make it better. I appreciate all the contributions everyone has made to this thread. I am sure I will have questions to ask in the near future as projects come up!

We live in Nanaimo BC on Vancouver Island. Say hello if you are in the area.

I would like to rebed my stanchions and other deck hardware. Has anyone found a way to do this easily? The ones that where access is in the forward bunk look like major surgery is required to get to them.

False Creek fisherman’s wharf. What are folks doing to reduce exhaust from rolling up the stern/ extending exhaust tip?

Can't help you there as I have 3.7s with outdrives. What engines do you have? Nice to see you are in the same neighbourhood
