Re: Advice buying liveaboard: 1963 Christ Craft Conqueror

How is it exceptionally overpriced?

The link says 42' model 62 asking 30k.

Ytworld quotes two items (40 and 41') askings 28.5 and 49.9.

Asking model 52' of year 53 150k BTW.

Much as I am not into wooden boats, I am reading here, wondering.

Re: Advice buying liveaboard: 1963 Christ Craft Conqueror

In my opinion the vessel is a project boat It needs to be repowered and has not been maintained. Yes boats do have many purposes; but, the value of the boat is determined by its condition and functionality as a vessel. Often asking prices are way out of proportion to the true value of the boat. A non-functioning gas propulsion system substantially reduces the value of a vessel regardless of the usage. And its a 1963 model. How many comparatives are available and how does their condition compare to this particular vessel? I personally would walk away or renegotiate this deal. For example, I recently purchased a vessel with an NADA range of 28K to 39K. Similar models are for sale in ranges of 22K to 60K depending on condition. I ended up purchasing the vessel for 10.5K. That said, some value can be implied if the vessel is in a liveaboard slip that can be transferred to the new owner. In my opinion, the boat is overvalued by at least 20K. Is the slip included and is it worth the 20K premium?
