Any idea on the weight capacity of this crane

Anybody have a guess as to what the lift capacity might be for this crane? Its on a 1987 42ft aft cabin Californian has a 1500# winch but that was a aftermarket and fairly new winch some body else put on. I am looking to lift as much as 400-500pounds if possible but I have no idea what this one will do safely. It bolts down onto the sundeck floor. It does not go down through it as far as i can tell. I can take and post more pics if needed. Thanks

Go to http://www.nickjacksonco.com/PIPE%20Dimensional-04.pdf

These davits have a stiffening tube that strengthens the main pipe. Yours does not have anything other than the pipe. These start at 300# capacity and go up to 1000#. The 500# model uses 3 1/2" OD tubing.

Compare your pipe dimensions with these and see if you are even close.

I don't think yours can lift 500#.

Re: Any idea on the weight capacity of this crane

Thanks for the input so far, the pipe looks to be 2.75 inch in diameter and i will have to open up some areas in the master cabinets to see if it goes thru the floor of the sundeck and is bolted with backing plate or if its just screwed into the floor of the sundeck. More info as I get it. what I would like to do is to be able to lift a med size MC maybe 400-500 cc into the sundeck.

Another concern is the winch that does the does the lifting. I have gone through two so far with my much larger aluminum crane.
