Doral vs. Cruisers

I know these boats are very different, but I am very torn about which one to buy; I am getting GREAT deals on both...

2007 Cruisers 300 CXI - twin 4.3 - single prop with 170hours

vs.

2000 Doral 360 SE - twin Diesel - only 50 hours

Please give me as much feed back as possible on these fantastic choices.

The KAMD44P diesel engines.

This boat seemed a bit slow, but I'm not sure if that is typical for diesel engines in general.

If your going to put over 100 hours a year on the engines I would go with the diesels. Diesel maintenance cost are higher but they are much more fuel efficient. I burn 2.3 gph with twin 175 hp Hinos cruising at 6.5 - 7 mph with the gen running. The gas powered boat is most likely faster but won't go as far on the same amount of fuel.

Re: Doral vs. Cruisers

We must have looked at 60 plus boats before we bought our Ocean, everything we heard in relation to diesels was a total positive. We are glad to have diesels for fuel economy and safety. 471 detriot's very little upkeep and we run mostly around 10knts but have 22knts in our pocket if we need to out run a storm. (best of both worlds)
