This boat seems to be at a great price, unless something is wrong with it. It's too small, but if it were in New England or on the East Coast I would probably consider it for a temporary boat, just because the price is so good.

The Meridian looks like a cruising boat, but not what I'm looking for.

This is a perfect design for us. If I could chop off a zero and about 20', I could buy her

This one has indirectly been pointed out already by someone else. It's an interesting boat. I'm not to keen on all of the exterior wood and don't know a whole lot about tug boats. I was waiting to get my Moms opinion on it. (she's out of town) It's not really the design, but worth another look.

You definitely have the right idea

I am offering a $5,000 finders fee to anyone who introduces me to the boat that will be my first boat purchase. The boat must be a boat that I have NOT already seen and CANNOT be a boat that is listed on Yachtworld. I check Yachtworld every day for new listings, so I will see it myself. However, I sometimes miss boats that are posted on other boat for sale listing websites.

The reason that I came up with this reward idea was because when I was in Florida viewing the boat that I wanted to buy, but lost to someone else, the broker showed me a pocket-listing. (A pocket-listing is a boat that is not formerly listed for sale.) This boat was not for me, but gorgeous nonetheless. The broker told me that many good boats, never hit the market. They are sometimes held as pocket listings, such as the one that he showed me, and sometimes they are for sale by owner. I would never know about any of these boats. Therefore, I am offering this reward to anyone who can find my boat.

Looking for:
55-70′
Raised Pilothouse
At least 3 staterooms
Steel or Fiberglass
Trawler/Expedition Style
Long Range
Passagemaking Capability
List Price not to exceed around $600k

I can't promise anything but I suggest you consider a location. There are a lot of gently used boats on the Great Lakes, especially with the tough economy in the rust belt. These boats have never seen salt. The season is about three months/year and most of these boats only go out on nice weekends. Some are available through retirement from charter companies. Most are found by local networks and never hit brokerages. You would need to google yacht clubs & basins for phone #s and/or drive the shoreline & visit various basins and marine stores to see listings or find boats with 'for sale' signs. This is a lot of effort but with a potential reward. We are close to the fall color tour season so - enjoy the ride.

This one I have seen somewhere else. It has a nice hull design, but no raised pilothouse. There was another reason that I discluded it, but can't remember, might have been MY fuel burn.

You are finding good ones. Thanks for sending them!!! Please let me know if you spot anything else

I didn't think that those zillion dollar mega yachts would be advertised on Craigslist. Strange.

I'm glad your enjoying it, because I'm fairly burn out from searching. I really do hope you happen on something really great. I'm ready to move aboard!!!

My house is supposed to close in 3 weeks, and the idea of temporary housing stinks. Bad. I hope my boat comes quick. Very quick
